Interview in Information

In this article, entitled “Identity Politics has contributed to a language, so we can talk about oppression”, I was interviewed for a series about the most important words of the decade for national Danish Newspaper Information. I was selected as an expert on Identity Politics.

VICE covers my work

I consulted with the LGBTQ film festival Copenhagen MIX for the past two years regarding the challenges with representation, transploitation, and racism, that film-festivals are often faced with. The work was covered in a series of media, but VICE did an excellent write-up.

Opinion piece in Politiken

In ‘the real problem is a widespread and normalized rape-culture in Denmark’ my co-authors and I argue that Danish rape-statistics and media-coverage skews our focus and disproportionately targets racial minorities as perpetrators of rape.

Story on DR consultancy

For the past years I have worked as an independent consultant. In this write-up, one of my clients, Danmarks Radio, describes the work I did on recruitment and biases for their lab for digital talents. ‘Young digital talents challenge Danmarks Radio’. Read it here.

Kristeligt Dagblad on Skam

The Danish national newspaper Kristeligt Dagblad interviewed me for a story on their online platform about representations of race and religion in the Norwegian television series SKAM. The article is entitled: ‘Does SKAM have room for both religion and lust?’.

Web dictionary - Killjoy.dk

Killjoy.dk is a fantastic resource for theory, analysis, & language around gender, sexuality, & discrimination in Denmark. I contributed to their web-thesaurus with an entry about transploitation, blaxploitation, & the representational differences between the two.

Talk Show Perspektiv

On the 30 min researcher talk-show ‘Perspektiv’, which airs on the Danish local television channel TV2 Lorry, my colleague Sabrina Vitting-Seerup and I discussed representation, gender, race, and more in Danish film and media, as well as in our roles as researchers in Danish academia.

Film review for Friktion

In this film ‘reading’ (rather than review) for the intersectional feminist magazine Friktion, I interrogate the representational challenges at play when Hollywood embraces particular narratives about race and sexuality, in this case in the film ‘Moonlight’.

Interview in Berlingske

In this interview in conservative Danish national newspaper Berlingske I discuss the Danish film industry’s challenges with gender equality. Unlike the title, I argue that the issue is structural, and not a question of personal qualities attained by the marginalized women.
